The Jewish mystical tradition offers deep teachings on the nature of existence, as well as practical pointers towards continual experience of the Divine in one’s daily life. This class will draw on the teachings of two of the greatest of Jewish mystics--the Baal Shem Tov and the Maggid of Mezeritch--as we look at traditional texts while also exploring contemplative practices. We will also consider parallels between these Kabbalistic ideas and those of other traditions such as Buddhism.
These are the texts that Rabbi Josh most loves to teach, and the ones that he has found most profoundly transformative in his own life. If you've ever wondered, "is there any real spiritual depth in the Jewish tradition?" this class is for you.
