Fire & Stars

  • RSVP for Location (map)

At our Fire & Stars gatherings we come together late afternoon to relax into the remaining hours of Shabbat together before transitioning into the very sweet end-of-Shabbat (havdalah) rituals together. When possible, the lighting of the havdalah candle and conclusion of these rituals will lead into a campfire together.

Join us, from 4-7:30ish!

RSVP for the address by Thursday, 2/16 to info@zmanim-seasons.org

Flow:

~ 4 pm Shabbat time! (For adults: Spiritual & Jewish music jam! For children: children-led games. Bring your favorite game/s to share!)
~ 5 pm Welcome
~ 5:15 pm Gluten Free Veggie/Dairy/Kosher fish potluck dinner; organic and local offerings much appreciated!)

Adult Salon during dinner: "Elijah the Prophet- our Passover & Shabbat special guest. Who IS this guy?"

Rabbi Daria will kick off the story-telling with a heart-warming story about Elijah the Prophet's challenge to a blind girl, and her witty response.

~ 6 pm Stories & Star gazing (Looking for 3 stars that can be seen in one glance: end-of-Shabbat havdalah rituals (braided candle, grape juice/wine, spices, blessings, and songs)*

Rabbi Daria will kick off the story telling with a special story from our tradition, and then we open the space for all!

*Note- the precise timing of havdalah and the meal will vary each month, and when we can see the stars. Some months we'll eat first; some months we'll mark havdalah first!
